Coon Rock Farm in Hillsborough

Eno Restaurant and Market Gets NYT Attention

by Jay on April 29, 2010

More foodie attention from the New York Times.

Last Sunday’s New York Times Magazine gave more credibility to the area and Durham as a great place for foodies. The spread tells the story of Coon Rock Farm near Hillsborough and the efforts of partners Richard Holcomb, Jamie DeMent and chef Marco Shaw to create a loop from farm to table in the Eno Restaurant and Market that is scheduled to open early this summer in Downtown Durham in the old historic fire station.

The article is just one more indication of how the rest of the world is beginning to see Durham as a progressive and interesting place to live while some of our nearby neighbors cling to images of decay that was never as bad as it was often portrayed.

The article also has a good recipe for roasted port and red chili cornbread that makes your mouth water.

This is all part of the “product” that we are selling…not just houses…ours are as good as anywhere…but combined with a community on the upswing and affordability makes this a great place to come and live.
